Corinaldo was probably founded in the 6th century, when, after the barbaric invasions, the inhabitants took shelter in new villages which could be better protected on a hill.
When in the 15th century the Communes were not autonomous anymore, Corinaldo became again part of the States of the Church.
Along the streets in the old town it is possible to see elegant Baroque buildings, among which the Town Hall of the 18th century preceded by a high portico, rising near the ex Augustinians’ Monastery of the 18th century.
