Fordsons F.C. was an Irish football club who played in the Football League of Ireland. The club was established in the 1920s in Cork city. It had strong links with Ford Motor Company, a major employer in the city at that time. It was named after the Fordson tractor, resulting in the nickname "The Tractors". The team was based in the Ballinlough/Ballintemple area of Cork, playing on the Ballinlough Road (now the site of Pic Du Jer housing estate). The club was admitted to the League of Ireland in 1924 replacing Midland Athletic. During its lifetime the club went through a number of name changes. The first, Cork F.C. from 1931 to 1938, was necessitated when the management of Fords ended the formal ties and requested that the club's name be changed. After this there were further changes Cork City from 1938 to 1939 and Cork United from 1939 to 1948. In February 13 1948, Cork United resigned from the league. Cork Athletic was immediately formed using the same personnel and elected to league in their place. In 1958 after a special general meeting of the League of Ireland, Cork Athletic's membership of the league was cancelled. No reason was given but it was widely believed that the club's financial problems over a number of years were to blame.

During its existence in the league (under its various guises) the club was the most successful league club (in terms of trophies won) to come from Cork city.
