Cornelia is a small town in the Free State Province of South Africa. It was named after the wife of former Free State President Francis Reitz. On the Uitzoek farm 10km north of Cornelia, fossils where discovered, including a donkey sized pig and the horse like chalicothere (Eurygnathohippus cornelianus) only previously found in Tanzania.
