The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets (VTCC) is one of only two military organizations established as an integral part of a major United States civilian university.
Cadets receive an intensive military and leadership educational experience similar to that available at the United States Military Service Academies or state-supported institutions such as The Citadel or the Virginia Military Institute.
Many members of the CadetCorps are also participants in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and will become commissioned officers in the U.S. Military upon graduation.
This corps has, as part of its charter, a mission to encourage and aid young people to develop an interest and skill in basic seamanship and in its naval adaptations, and to implement those skills.
Please don't sully the fine reputation of the Sea CadetCorp with your silly and erroneous insinuation that we are nothing but a pipeline to war mongering!
The Naval Sea CadetCorp is obviously not for *some* people, but it remains available for those parents whose children may desire a challenging, physical and educational experience (and have a lot of fun as well).
