Encyclopedia > Corretto

Corretto, from the Italian for 'Corrected' is the name given to a home roasting coffee method that used a bread machine to stir the beans and a stand-mounted heat gun to provide the heat. The 'Corretto' is named for its developer who shared the concept with other home coffee roasters. Home roasting refers to the process of buying green coffee beans and roasting them in your own home. ...

Typically this method allows a much greater control of the roasting process and when coupled with a data logging multi meter it is second only to professional roasting machines in the ability to monitor and control roasting variables.

While the method is among many used by home coffee roasters around the world it is a fairly recent innovation and in its current form was developed by an Australian 'Coffee Snob' and rapidly grew in popularity.
