Cosme Velho is a traditional neighborhood located in the Southern Zone of Rio de Janeiro, near Laranjeiras neighborhood. Its main street is Rua Cosme Velho (Cosme Velho Street, in English) which is a prolongation of Rua das Laranjeiras (Laranjeiras Street, in English). It is a small neighborhood, but it has great touristic potential. The Estação de Ferro do Corcovado (Corcovado Train Station, in English), is located in the neighborhood, and is where depart Corcovado's trains, which carry tourists to Corcovado's peak, where is located the Christ the Redeemer's statue, which is one of the greatest symbols of the city.
