The CounterCorp Film Festival is a three-day series of anti-corporate films and videos held in San Francisco's Mission District. The program includes feature-length and short documentary and narrative films, including animation. Anti-corporate activists (see activism) believe that the rise of large business corporations is posing a threat to the legitimate authority of nation states and the public sphere. ...
The stated goal of the festival is to generate public and media attention, critical thought and analysis, and discussion and debate on the effects that large corporations have on the lives and culture of people all over the planet, and on the health of the planet itself.
In addition to the festival, CounterCorp also sponsors other events to promote that goal.
