Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse was a children's cartoon television show that was syndicated in 1960. The characters were created by Bob Kane as a parody of his earlier works, Batman and Robin. In the series, the pair are superheroes who thwart the crime plots of various villains by using their all-purpose Catgun and rushing to the scenes of the crime in their Catmobile. The animated series had 130 episodes. The duo always fought against enemies like the evil kingpin Mr. Frog, whose voice was based on Edward G. Robinson. Dal McKennon and Bob McFadden provided the voices for the series. The entire series was released to DVD on October 29, 2002 by A&E Home Video. Don Markstein's Toonopedia: Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse (421 words)
Courageous and Minute were the protectors of Empire City, just as Batman and Robin protected Gotham.
Courageous didn't carry a multitude of cat-themed weapons in a utility belt, but did have one with a multitude of uses — the Catgun, from which, like Captain Caveman's hair, virtually anything he needed could emerge, even things you'd swear could never fit inside.
They weren't toondom's first unnatural partnership between a cat and a mouse — Hanna-Barbera's Snooper & Blabber beat them onto the air by a year.
