Tourism

Its picturesque mountain scenery and healthy mountain air make Courmayeur an attractive destination. It is one of the most famous skiing locations in Europe. Still, Courmayeur is popular not only in the winter for skiing, but also in the summer for hiking or simply relaxing.


Transportation and hiking

Courmayeur is well connected to North-Western Italy (220 km from Milan) . Dolonne, a sister-town of Courmayeur, holds many residential areas and hotels, as well as a large sporting center. It is connected to Courmayeur by a bridge that stands over a tributary flowing from Mont Blanc.


The Parish of St. Nicolas rests like a balcony on the side of Valle D'Aosta consisting of 13 hamlets and overlooking the four main latteral valleys, Savaranche, Grisenche, Cogne, and Valle De Rheims (the Vally of the Queen).


Another mountain that surrounds Courmayeur is Mont Chétif. It is a hiker-friendly mountain with a statue of the Virgin Mary at the summit which overlooks the town and can be seen from practically anywhere. Saint Mary and Saint Mary the Virgin both redirect here. ...
