The Scottish Hockey Union, together with the West of Scotland Institute of Sport and sportscotland is delighted to announce the appointment of former GB International CraigParnham as the High Performance Hockey Coach for the West of Scotland Area Institute of Sport.
Parnham announced his retirement from the international scene in December 2004 and moved to Scotland to join his girlfriend, Scottish International Emma Rochlin.
We are confident that Craig has the skills and experience, both on and off the pitch to develop the athletes identified for inclusion in the West Area squad.
Men's under-21 coach CraigParnham leads a much-changed squad to Manchester for two Test matches against Wales, with several of his younger hopefuls in Paris with the under-18s.
A blank year for competition it may be, but it is a good chance for Parnham to widen the selection net.
Parnham's prime objective is to collect a squad that will achieve promotion from the B Division of the European Cup in Gibraltar a year from now.
