"Creep" is the seventh track off the album Core, the debut album by the band Stone Temple Pilots. Performed at a lumberingly slow tempo, the song is a calm interlude between two heavily distorted tracks. The song features the chorus, "I'm half the man I used to be." It was the third and final single off of the album. This song was particularly noted for its striking resemblance to the grunge scene of the day, and the band was scathed for jumping on the bandwagon by most music critics when the single first came out in 1993. The version of the song that's on the video is actually different from the one that appears on Core album, with some slight differences in how Scott Weiland sings parts of the song (notably the lyric - "Think you're kinda neat, then she tells me I'm a creep"). Also, the song in the video is approximately 30 seconds shorter than the one on the album. On the album, the first time the chorus is sung, the line, "I'm half the man I used to be (this I feel as the dawn it fades to grey)" is sung 3 times then the line "I'm half the man I used to be" is sung twice. However, in the video, the line, "I'm half the man I used to be (this I feel as the dawn it fades to grey)" is only sung 1 time then the line "I'm half the man I used to be" is sung twice. This version is the one the band usually played at concerts and the one that appeared on most singles for the song "Creep". CORE may refer to: The Congress of Racial Equality in the USA.
