Crescent Beach is an unincorporated census-designated place located in St. Johns County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 985.

Geography

Crescent Beach is located at 29°45'56" North, 81°15'11" West (29.765550, -81.253023)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²). 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 985 people, 530 households, and 299 families residing in the community. The population density is 250.2/km² (646.2/mi²). There are 1,535 housing units at an average density of 389.9/km² (1,007.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 97.36% White, 0.10% African American, 0.51% Native American, 0.41% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.42% from two or more races. 0.81% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 530 households out of which 9.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.8% are married couples living together, 3.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 43.4% are non-families. 35.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.86 and the average family size is 2.33.

The population is spread out with 8.8% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 17.6% from 25 to 44, 32.8% from 45 to 64, and 36.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 57 years. For every 100 females there are 105.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.4 males.

The median income for a household in the community is $39,821, and the median income for a family is $49,712. Males have a median income of $42,750 versus $29,091 for females. The per capita income for the community is $32,279. 8.9% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 0.0% of those under the age of 18 and 4.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
