The Crested Argus, Rheinardia ocellata is a large, up to 235cm, pheasant with dark brown spotted black and buff plumage, pink bill, brown iris and blue skin around eye. The head is small, decorated with white erect crest feathers on rear crown. Male has a broad and greatly elongated tail of twelve feathers, up to nearly two meters long. The female appears similar, with shorter crest and tail. The conservation status of a species is an indicator of the likelihood of that species continuing to survive. ...
