Creston ( Lat. 49.06 North; Lon. 116.31 West ) is a town ( population about 5,000 ) in southeastern British Columbia, Canada, a few miles north of the International Boundary between Canada and Idaho, USA. Its economy is largely resource-based with agriculture and forestry most important. Many are employed in the service sector, and tourism is increasingly prominent. The town has a large brewery and two grain elevator-type buildings. Many apple, cherry, pear and plum orchards grow around the town, which is also an important dairy center.

The Creston Valley begins at the BC community of Rykerts on the US border, 11 km south of Creston, and parallels the east shore of Kootenay Lake to the village of Riondel.
Location: Creston is located south of Kootenay Lake in the southern Kootenays, at the junction of Highway 3, 3A and Highway 21, which runs 7 miles (11 km) south to the Canada/US border.
