Crime Story, aka. Police Story IV and New Police Story (Original title: 重案組) is a 1993 Hong Kong movie, directed by Kirk Wong and Jackie Chan, and starring Jackie Chan. Plot Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. In the movie, Inspector Eddie Chan (Jackie Chan) attempts to find a kidnapped businessman, and it takes him from Hong Kong to Taiwan in search of him. What complicates matters is that there is a mole within the police force, destined to try to stop Chan from finding the kidnapped businessman. The movie is based on the kidnapping of Hong Kong property billionaire Wong Tak-fei or otherwise known as Teddy Wang, even though they changed his name. In the end, the mole reveals the location of the businessman on a boat, and he is rescued. However, this is fictionalized, as in real life, Wong Tak-fei has never been found. Many believe that he was thrown off the boat when police closed in to his location.
