Encyclopedia > Crime Syndicate of Amerika

The Crime Syndicate of America are a group of supervillains from one of DC Comics' universes. Hailing from Earth-Three, a world where the heroes are villains, the Crime Syndicate are the evil version of the Justice League, who rule their world with an iron fist. Their motto is "Cui Bono?" ("Who profits?").

The membership of the Crime Syndicate is Ultraman (Superman), Superwoman (Wonder Woman), Owlman (Batman), Johnny Quick (The Flash) and Power Ring (Green Lantern). Their archenemy is Alexander Luthor (Lex Luthor), who is that world's first and only superhero.

Although Earth-Three and its inhabitants were destroyed in Crisis on Infinite Earths #1, a post-Crisis version appeared in JLA: Earth 2. Here their name was respelled to Crime Syndicate of Amerika. In a later issue of Superman, the new Ultraman and Superwoman had a child together.

The JLA/Avengers crossover written by Kurt Busiek, confirmed that the anti-matter universe of Earth 2 was the same one the Weaponers of Qward (the evil counterparts to Guardians of the Universe) inhabited. The story seemed to involve the destruction of that universe, but this was later reversed when the series' villain, Krona, was defeated. The Crime Syndicate reappeared in Busiek's run on JLA.

A team called Justice Lords, who combined elements of the Crime Syndicate and The Authority, appeared in an episode of the Justice League animated series.

Crime Syndicate of America - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (1631 words)
The Crime Syndicate of America is a fictional team of supervillains from one of DC Comics' parallel universes, and are the evil counterparts of the Justice League of America.
This Crime Syndicate (with their name slightly respelled to "Crime Syndicate of Amerika") rule their world with an iron fist (a change from their pre-Crisis counterparts, who were unsuccessful in conquering their world); the modern Syndicate's motto is "Cui Bono?" ("Who profits?").
It is unclear whether the Syndicate or the anti-matter universe have survived the events of the 2006 limited series Infinite Crisis.
Sunday Slugfest - JLA #109 Review - Silver Bullet Comics (2840 words)
I will concede that the page where we see the aftermath of the various hit and run attacks that the Crime Syndicate have made was a solid little sequence though, as was the look of delight on the faces of the villains as Johnny Quick reveals his plan.
After last issue’s reality-warping wave hit the Anti-matter universe of the Crime Syndicate of Amerika, the Justice League’s evil counterparts are on the offensive.
Because the Syndicate intend to keep a low profile--or as low as they can--nobody dies during their crime spree, and they don’t think about raping the Sue Dibneys of the world.
