The Amazing Criswell (born Jeron King Criswell on August 18, 1907, died October 4, 1982) was an Americanpsychic who was famous for his wildly inaccurate predictions. He found infamy in the movies of Ed Wood, including Plan 9 from Outer Space and Orgy of the Dead. He was portrayed in the biopicEd Wood by Jeffrey Jones, in which it is suggested that Criswell was simply a showman and never claimed to be a real psychic.
Criswell's most famous prediction was made on American television in March 1963, when he predicted that John F. Kennedy would not run for reelection in 1964 because something was going to happen to him in November 1963.

Criswell had a huge standard poodle (named 'Buttercup') which she was convinced was the reincarnation of her cousin Thomas.
Criswell was longtime friends with actress Mae West, once predicting her impending rise to the position of President of the United States, whereupon she, Criswell, and showman Liberace would ride a rocket to the moon.
Criswell quipped: "They believe the Bible is inspired in spots and they are inspired to spot the spots." To Criswell, the Bible was inspired from Genesis to Revelation and he preached the whole counsel of God.
In 1985 Criswell preached a watershed sermon at the Pastors Conference of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Criswell commented afterwards that Whether We Live or Die was the most important sermon he ever preached. With all the passion a Texan could muster, Criswell warned his fellow pastors to learn from the life of Charles Spurgeon and the Down Grade controversy.
