Plot

An urban family stops at a rest area while on vacation, despite warnings by Charlie, a veteran of the creatures' earlier attacks. Once widower Clifford (Calvin) and his kids Annie (Brooks) and Johnny return home to their apartment building, the critters, having laid eggs hitched a ride, begin to reproduce. Despite only two eggs (the third having been crushed by Clifford while fixing the truck) the tenement becomes overrun with diminutive, hungry killers. The first to go is cruel superintendent Frank. The unscrupulous landlord, whose son finds romance with Annie, is the only other death in the film, a marked lowering of the usual death count for the series. With the appearance of the resourceful Charlie and the heroics of Clifford, the critters' days are soon numbered. It was also Leonardo DiCaprio's first film, he plays the step-son of the evil landlord. Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio (born November 11 1974[1]) is a three-time Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning American actor who garnered world wide fame for his role as Jack Dawson in Titanic. ...

Trivia

  • Leonardo DiCaprio stated in some interviews that he is ashamed of working on this movie.
  • The Krite's claws in this were noticeably bending when coming in contact with any hard surface.
  • The case in which the movie is held in is misleading, as it shows a critter holding the phone in the basement (presumably Frank's phone) and "talking", while in the movie this does not happen. The critter merely knocks the phone off the receiver and growls, then proceeds to chew on the phone.
  • In the scene where Frank is first being attacked, in some parts of the scene it is clearly shown that the critter's eyes are black and not glowing red like in the rest of the movie. This is because the actor had to use the puppet on his own, without strings or puppeteers.
  • When Annie attempts to run back upstairs she is stopped by a critter, which looks exactly like the critter in Critters 2 that is blown up in Brad's aunt's kitchen.

Critters 3 (1181 words)
Critters 3 is the third in the series of B-grade horror films about the little furry aliens who emerge from their rock-like flying pods with ravenous appetites for food, especially humans.
Critters 3 is nothing special as a horror, science fiction, or adventure film, but it is Leonardo di Caprio's film debut, so you get a first glimpse of the many "kid with attitude" type of roles that are about to come.
The critters themselves are never really seen in a lot of closeup detail, and their main activities seem to be throwing little darts at people, making weird noises, and rolling or flying at people.
