Cross Island Parkway is part of the Belt Parkway system that runs around the perimeter of Queens County in New York City. The Cross Island Parkway runs from the Bronx Whitestone Bridge passed the Throgs Neck Bridge, along the border of Queens County and Nassau County to meet up with the Southern State Parkway.


The Cross Island Parkway is the main route to Belmont Park in Elmont, New York where the Belmont Stakes are run every June marking the end of the Triple Crown.
