The club was established at the Cove of Cork (now Cobh) in 1720 and holds the title of the oldest in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Crosshaven also has an internationally successful indoor soccer team, which currently holds the Isola Design Cup. This years tournament takes place in London on August 26th, where the team hope to retain their title. The Crosshaven International Indoor Soccer team easily defended their title in August 2006, and are expecting another easy victory when the London teams return to Ireland in April 2007. The Londoners are believed to be frantically recruiting new talent, in an attempt to be more competitive.
