After meeting during high school at ABC No Rio, Ella and Gaylen began to write and play music together. They eventually formed Beer Garden with other long time friends from ABC No Rio, breaking up after a tour and an album. Out of this came Crybaby Macarthur. Aaron Cometbus, a founding member of seminal East Bay band Crimpshrine, replaced the original drummer Alex in 2004. They have toured the United States, are on the verge of releasing their first full length album, and another tour is planned for the winter.
