| Although the EJV cutdown approach for central venous access is well described in the literature [3-8], there is no data available which specifically addresses the question of the potential utilization of EJV cutdown approach for CICVAD placement in cancer patients when the CV cutdown approach is not technically feasible. |
| The lack of such complications with venous cutdown approaches does add further support to the utilization of venous cutdown approaches for CICVAD placement in cancer patients, however, the current report was not designed to specifically address and compare the risk of immediate postoperative complications between venous cutdown approaches and the subclavian vein percutaneous approach. |
