Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, established by Hamden Holmes Noble in 1892, is a cemetery located in Colma, California, a place known as the "City of the Silent". It is the final resting site for several members of the celebrated Hearst family plus other prominent citizens from the San Francisco area including;

CypressLawn has been negotiating with BART and SamTrans for more than two years to identify mitigations that would reduce or eliminate significant adverse environmental impacts of the project, such as noise, vibration and dust on the sacred, tranquil atmosphere of the cemetery.
CypressLawn is also a living memorial to the thousands of Californians interned in the cemetery, which is visited daily by friends and family of the deceased.
CypressLawn's lawsuit challenges the certification of BART's EIR on the extension project in order to protect the cemetery from unmitigated impacts.
CypressLawnMemorialPark was established in 1892 by a group of civic-minded men led by Hamden Noble in answer to a need for a place where people can bury their loved ones with dignity and respect.
In time, CypressLawn became, and still is, the choice cemetery for the most prominent and powerful families in San Francisco and the State of California.
Beautiful monuments and edifice to memorialize the achievements of these men and women who helped shape the Golden State were built by the leading architects, sculptors, and artists of the early 20th century.
