DCide is a Washington, DC based independent record label most noted for releasing various compilations of unsigned artists in the Washington, DC area. The label was founded in 1995 by Jeffrey B. Clyburn, Burton Gray and Mark Thorp. Their first act, a metal band called Nothingface, has sold over 150,000 records worldwide. In 2002 they partnered with Geffen Records to release the debut record from rock band TRUSTcompany.
In 2003 DCide teamed up ith Ishmael Butler, formerly of the Grammy award winning rap group Digable Planets, to release the debut album from his new band Cherrywine. DCide has also relesaed several compilations of unsigned or promising new bands, the most successful of which was a project called "DCide: the 40".
Other bands signed to DCide include Clare Quilty, The DBC, and Oddzar.
