DJ Uncle Al, was a very popular, respected and admired DJ that was well known nationwide for his trend setting and innovative abilities in music producing as well as broadcasting. This extraordinaire individual was murdered on September 10, 2001 in direct contrast to his lifestyle and much promoted philosophy of “peace in the hood” and non-violence in the community. His untimely death was a shock to the community and music industry. The date of his death and the 911 tragedies caused limited coverage of his death. Uncle Al was born in Miami and graduated from Miami Northwestern High School in Miami, FL where he gained his experience and popularity.
