Dacryocystitis is an infection of the nasolacrimal sac. It causes pain, redness and swelling over the inner aspect of the lower eyelid and epiphora. TREATMENT:

  • warm compresses,nasal decongestants,systemic and topic antibiotics
  • if chroni,obtain cultures by aspiration
  • Once infection resolves consider Dacryocystorhinostomy(DCR)
