Dale Winton (born 22 May 1955 in London) is an English radio DJ and television presenter. He grew up in North London and attended Aldenham Public School in Hertfordshire. He began his DJ career in the clubs of London, before moving on to work professionally on the in-house broadcasting network at United Biscuits, where had his own morning show broadcasting to the workforce[[1]. Dale went on to work in Nottingham at Radio Trent, where he presented his own morning show from 1977 through to 1984, when a mix up with contracts led to Dale not renewing. He presented shows including Supermarket Sweep and Pets Win Prizes. He was more recently well known for presenting the Saturday night National Lottery show, In It To Win It. In 1997, he also presented the final of The Great British Song Contest, the UK's national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, due to a tie-in with the lottery programme. From 2004, he presented celebrity weight loss "boot camp" programme, Celebrity Fit Club. From April 1, 2000 to August 28, 2004 Dale hosted Pick of the Pops from 2.00-3.30 pm on Saturday afternoons on BBC Radio 2, taking over from Alan Freeman. From September 18, 2005, Dale returned to Radio 2 presenting Pick of the Pops once again, every Sunday afternoon from 3.30-5.00 pm. In April 2006, Dale guest presented the BBC's pop quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and in 1999 he had a cameo on the sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme with Kathy Burke (episode title Do They Take Sugar?).
