Chafer served as President of DTS until his death in 1952 whereupon John F. Walvoord replaced Chafer. Walvoord oversaw massive growth of DTS until he retired in 1986. Donald K. Campbell replaced Walvoord and presided until his resignation in 1994 at which time internationally known host of "Insight for Living" and DTS graduate Chuck Swindoll became President.
