Dallesport is a census-designated place located in Klickitat County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,185.

Geography

Dallesport is located at 45°37'42" North, 121°10'49" West (45.628331, -121.180400)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 17.5 km² (6.8 mi²). 17.5 km² (6.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 1,185 people, 473 households, and 335 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 67.7/km² (175.3/mi²). There are 525 housing units at an average density of 30.0/km² (77.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 89.03% White, 0.25% African American, 3.46% Native American, 1.69% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.94% from other races, and 3.63% from two or more races. 3.71% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 473 households out of which 30.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% are married couples living together, 9.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.0% are non-families. 23.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.51 and the average family size is 2.96.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 23.5% from 25 to 44, 30.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 92.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.4 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $36,250, and the median income for a family is $41,689. Males have a median income of $40,250 versus $21,853 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $17,995. 17.6% of the population and 12.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 22.3% of those under the age of 18 and 18.6% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
