The governorate's area is 1.029 km² or about 5% of the Delta's area,and about 1% of the Egypt area. The occupied area is 589.2 km², the village has 546.4 km² from it or about 92.7%. It is famous of producing wheat, maize, cotton, rice, potatoes, lemon, grapes and tomatoes.
