Danapur is a satellite town of Patna in Bihar province of India on the right bank of the Ganges. In 1857 the sepoy garrison of the place initiated the mutiny of that year in Patna district, but after a conflict with the European troops were forced to retire from the town, and subsequently laid siege to Arrah. Basically, it is the Headquarter of Bihar Regiment of Indian Army. Danapur is also a Division of Eastern Central Zone of Indian Railway. The Divisional Railway Manager's (DRM) office is situated near Danapur Railway station. The area surrounding to this station is called Khagaul. The Danapur Cantt and Danapur City is 5 kilometers away. There is also a Degree College, namely Bindeswari Singh College, affliated with Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya .
