Danielle Stearman (also known as just Danielle) is the runner-up of the AustralianPopstars 3 in 2002. She first entered the charts by singing on the "Superstition" single, which featured the Final 7 of Popstars 3 singing different versions/genres/styles/covers of the song originally by Stevie Wonder (see "Superstition"). The single peaked at #7 on the Australian ARIAnet Singles Chart. Her first official/solo single "Tell Me If You Like It" then debuted and peaked at #20 in the same year, but she hasn't charted in the ARIAnet Singles nor Albums Charts ever since. Danielle shot to fame on the third series of "Popstars", but narrowly missed out on the coveted prize of being the first solo popstar to emerge from the successful TV show.
Danielle: I was so lucky I didn't win I think because I got time to go home and ask myself 'do I really want to do this?' I had the opportunity to come home and take it all in and decide if I was willing to put in 110 per cent to make it work.
Danielle: Well after it was announced that Scott [Cain] was the winner I was approached pretty much straight away by Warner and they said "we love the track and we'll be in touch".
Stearman, 20, was runner-up to winner Scott Cain and has signed a record deal for her single Tell Me if You Like It, the song she recorded while on the show.
Stearman, was happy to get a second chance at making it in the pop world.
Stearman, a country music singer before her time on the show, says if an album deal does not eventuate after her debut single, she plans to keep plugging away.
