Danilovgrad was founded with the purpose of being the capital of Montenegro. However, after the liberation of Niksic and Podgorica which slowed down its significance.It got its name after it's creator Prince Danilo. However fundaments to this little city were made first by King Nikola I in 1870. Famous attraction is the well of Glava Zete it's located in the vicinity of the city. Today, Danilovgrad covers the space of 501 square kilometers with about 15 000 inhabitants. There are the Art galleries, Historical museums, and a rich library in Danilovgrad. The most significant sacral monument is the monastery Zdrebaonik ,this monastery is 2km from the city and its founder is Nemanja’s son Vukan.
