At the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, she was a scientist working on Ex-Gal 4 science outpost when it was attacked at the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong war. Unknown to any of them, one of the crew members, Yomin Carr was a disguised advance agent for the Praetorite Vong. When the scientists discover the leading Worldship of the invasion, it is disguised as a comet but behaves oddly. Since is origin appears extra galactic, Danni decides to take the Spacecaster-class shuttle closer to investigate. Two other scientists, Bensin Tomri and Cho Badaleg go with her. Yomin Carr mutes the signals sent to ExGal so that no warning can be given and warns the war coordinator DaGara of the Spacecasters pending arrival. He notes that they should take special heed of Danni Quee. It is decided that her will cannot be bent against her own people so she will be killed honourably as a sacrifice.

The team on the Spacecaster notice the bad reception but attribute it to interference from the Belkadan planetary storms which appear to be worsening. In their absence, the remaining scientists are killed by the storms or Yomin Carr. The storms are actually a molecular transformation set in motion previously by Yomin Carr.

The scientists on the Spacecaster land on the icy fourth planet of the Helska system. The readings they obtain do not make sense but before they can analyse them, they are attacked by the Yuuzan Vong who disable their craft and capture them. Cho Badeleg is killed during the capture and Bensin Tomri ritually executed soon after. Danni is confined in an icy dome shaped chamber which can only be reached using an enviro suit provided by the Yuuzan Vong.

After several days another prisoner is brought in to her cell. He is the Jedi Miko Reglia of the Dozen and Two Avengers. They had been tracking smugglers and stumbled across the Spacecasters trail.

The Yuuzan Vong decide Miko is unworthy and begin the process of breaking down his mind with psychological torture. As they enter Miko and Danni attack them and escape the cell with their captor's enviro suits. This is anticipated and they are recaptured in the Worldship and taken to the worship of the yammosk where Miko is tortured. This continues on and off for days with Danni trying to comfort Miko but unable to help him.

An attack on the Yuuzan Vong is launched and during the attack Jacen Skywalker lands on the planet and hears a cry of distress. He recognises Miko Reglia collapsed on the floor but the source of the call is Danni not Miko. When the guards come to take Miko, Jacen Miko and Danni fight them. Miko is killed in the fight but Danni and Jacen escape. Jacen recognises that Danni has the capacity to become a great Jedi.

She was later trained by Luke Skywalker, but never truly took to her training. She was also responsible for the breakthrough in the jamming of yammosk signals. During the time that Jacen Solo was recuperating on Mon Calamari, Danni Quee spent time with him at Mester Reef. It was during this time that the idea of Jacen and Danni as a couple was introduced to people, though by the time of the Killik Twilight Trilogy, it is apparent that the two have become estranged from one another in the intervening seven years.
