Plot

An escaped criminal, known only by his prison number 39013 (Thirty Nine - O - Thirteen), seeks revenge on his former partner, tycoon Horace Granville. He kidnaps Granville, imprisoning him within his own house, and disguises himself to take Granville's place. He then sets about methodically destroying everything Granville owns. This leads to a fire being started at the Granville Amusement Centre, at which a trio of acrobats is performing. The daredevils escape but the kid brother of one of them is not so lucky. They swear to get revenge and begin to investigate the situation, with occasional hints delivered by someone signing themselves as "The Red Circle".
