Dariga Nursultanqyzy Nazarbayeva (Kazakh: Дариға Нұрсұлтанқызы Назарбаева) (born May 7, 1963 in Temirtau, Kazakhstan) is a current political figure in the Republic of Kazakhstan and daughter of current president Nursultan Nazarbayev. In addition to being head of the official state run news agency, Khabar, she is known for forming the Kazakhstani political party Asar, Kazakh for "All together". Many believe President Nazarbayev is grooming his daughter to succeed him upon his retirement. She is currently ineligible to run due to a constitutional provision stating that the head of state be non-partisan. The relationship with her father is nowadays not so good, in part due to the critique she sometimes expresses. She is married to Rakhat Aliyev with whom she has two sons.
