Encyclopedia > Dartford railway station

Dartford station is a railway station at Dartford in North-West Kent, on the North Kent line. It is not, as sometimes supposed, in south-east London. The proposed Crossrail line will stop there.

Trains from the station run westbound to London Victoria via Bexleyheath (once every thirty minutes) and to London Charing Cross via Woolwich Arsenal, Bexleyheath or Sidcup, and eastbound to Gravesend, Strood and the Medway Towns (although due to engineering works currently taking place no trains currently run past Higham). The station is an interchange between the three lines into London, and a large number of trains terminate there.
