Das Pop is a Belgian pop music band, who became internationally known with their album IDas Pop. Their music is a mix of pop rock and electronica. They consist of a drummer/leadsinger (Bent Van Looy), a bass player (Niek Meul) and a guitar player (Reinhard). Live they are joined by a drummer, so Bent can play the keys and sing. Their second album The Human Thing involves less electronica and has a considerably more mature sound. Right now they are working on their third album, wich is being produced by David Dewaele from Soulwax. They have a considerable Belgian fanbase. Pop music, in popular and contemporary parlance, is a subgenre of popular music. ... Soulwax, headed by David and Stephen Dewaele, is an alternative rock band hailing from Ghent, Belgium. ...

The most admirable fact is how Das Pop succeeded in making all the elements of a song fit together, with an incredible feeling for timing.
Das Pop has succeeded in creating a record that brings other musical styles to mind, but has enough of their own to be distinctive, and indeed, very enjoyable.

The trademark Das Pop are (what else to expect with such a name) pop-melodies and a sound that's close to Blur and Britpop.
In the summer, Das Pop stood on the main stage of the Pukkelpop festival, and finally headed into the studio for a CD.
The recordings were done in the Chapel Studio's, near Nottingham, where Vinall had the Das Pop members sitting in different rooms of a house recording little bits of songs, with him putting all these jingles, riffs, melodies and other violence into closely resembling coherent songs.
