Dat Phan (born January 25, 1975 in Saigon, South Vietnam), is a Vietnamese American stand-up comedian. When he was a child, he, his mother, and nine of his siblings emigrated to the United States. They suffered financial hardships throughout his childhood. He grew up in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego, California, then spent his teenage years in Santee, California, a suburb of San Diego. He was disliked by the other contestants due to his relative inexperience in professional comedy, over-reliance on utilizing his mother and the same accent repeatedly in his act, as well as his eccentric behavior.
