Encyclopedia > Dave Brass

Dave Brass is a Correctional Officer on the HBO drama Oz played by Blake Robbins. Talented at Basketball, Unit Manager Tim McManus recruits him to play in a pick-up game against inmate Jackson Vahue. Brass does so well in the tournament that he gets a look from an NBA scout. This look upsets the Latino inmates who lost a bet due to a performance by Brass and they set up the slicing of his achille's tendon as a result. Brass is then confined to a cane for the rest of his life and has an even harder time working in Oz as a result. Brass later purchases a lottery ticket for inmate Bob Rebadow that ends up winning the $2,000,000.00 Jackpot. Overjoyed, Brass leaves Oz on a vacation stealing the money from Rebadow which he is later remorseful for. When the inmate who sliced his tendon dies, he uses it as a revenge opportunity on Latino leader Enrique Morales cutting both of his tendons. This is eventually reported by fellow CO Sean Murphy (Oz) who cannot go through with participating in the act of violence. Brass then is fired from Oz later attempting to assassinate former inmate Jackson Vahue. HBO (Home Box Office) is a premium cable television network with headquarters in New York City. ...
