Dave Dederer, best known as guitarist and singer for the Presidents of the United States of America, was born on October 5, 1964. An alumnus of Seattle, Washington's Bush School and Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, he founded the Presidents with fellow Bush alumnus Christopher Ballew, with whom he had been playing in various bands for years. On June 19th 2001 Dave Navarro released his solo album 'Trust No One' and having made his solo live debut in Boston on August 30th, continued a brief tour of the East Coast for which Dave was musical director.
Dave says 'I was in this band called Zilch, this crazy thing with a guitarist named Hide - he's big in Japan - and Joey Castillo from Queens Of The Stone Age on drums.' Dave recalls 'It was a collaboration between these Japanese and American musicians.
Dave has a similar recollection, saying 'when two of the guys in Loaded got a record deal with a separate band and he needed a guitar player, I started playing in his band'.

The band was formed in late 1993 by Chris Ballew (basitar) and Dave Dederer (guitbass).
Dederer collaborated with former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan as The Gentlemen, and Finn played drums for several bands, including The Nevada Bachelors and Love Battery, his original band.
Ballew and Dederer respectively play a basitar and guitbass, which are regular six-string guitars modified to use two strings (for bass) or three strings (for guitar).
