The Right Honourable David Maurice Curry (born June 13, 1944) is a BritishConservative politician and the Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon. Michael Howard in 2003 made him Shadow secretary of state for local and devolved government affairs. In 2004 he resigned and was replaced by Caroline Spelman. He is a member of the Privy Council, and a patron of the Tory Reform Group. He writes a monthly column for the Local Government Chronicle. David and Jennie Curry moved to Yosemite Valley in 1899 and established a family campground at the base of Glacier Point, called Camp Curry.
But DavidCurry had a few ideas to make his camp more attractive to visitors, and one of them was the reintroduction of the Firefall.
The Firefall was reinstituted in the summer of 1917, however DavidCurry never got a chance to see the spectacle again, as he died of blood poisoning in April of that year.
