Professor David Flint AM is a prominent Australian legal academic, best known for his controversial tenure as head of the Australian Broadcasting Authority and as one of Australia's most prominent and enthusiastic monarchists, in opposition to Australian republicanism. In support of Australia's current constitutional arrangements, and the Crown that is tied to it, Flint is the current National Convenor of Australians for Constitutional Monarchy. The Order of Australia is an order of chivalry for the purpose of according recognition to Australian citizens and other persons for achievement or for meritorious service. The Order was established on February 14, 1975, when Queen Elizabeth II signed Letters Patent instituting the Order. ...
