David was the eighth and youngest son of Jesse, a citizen of Bethlehem.
David was sent for, and the prophet immediately recognized him as the chosen of God, chosen to succeed King Saul, who was now departing from the ways of God, on the throne of the kingdom.
David is also figurative of Christ, the slaying of Goliath being compared to the way that Jesus defeated Satan when Jesus died on the cross.
DavidFord (born March 23, 1967 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian whitewater slalom kayaker.
He began kayaking at age 10, and is a graduate of the University of Alberta.
He won a gold medal in the K1 event of the 1999 World Championships La Seu d'Urgell, Spain and won a silver in the same event at the 2003 World Championships in Augsburg, Germany.
