David Guterson (born May 4, 1956 in Seattle) is an American author and magazine journalist, formerly a high school English teacher.
Guterson also wrote Family Matters: Why Homeschooling Makes Sense, a thoughtful discussion of why he and his wife teach their children at home and out in the world rather than sending them to school.
David Guterson has four children, all of whom were educated initially at home.
