Encyclopedia > David John Denzil Davies

The Right Honourable David John Denzil Davies (born October 9, 1938) is the Welsh member of Parliament for Llanelli for the Labour Party, and a member of the Privy Council.

He is one of the few MPs in the House to have experience of governing under James Callaghan - he was a Treasury Minister. He resigned from the front bench in 1988 in protest at Neil Kinnock's management style. He is seen as a Eurosceptic, and opposed the National Assembly for Wales.
