For his outstanding service to athletics and to the University, David Moorcroft received the honorary degree of Master of the University.
David Moorcroft has been involved in athletics for more than 30 years at club, area and international level as a competitor, teacher, coach, broadcaster and, since 1997, chief executive of the sport’s national governing body.
David has played a pivotal role in the creation of UK Athletics and was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 1998 for services to athletics.
