David Jones today announced an 18.7% rise in sales for the 13 weeks to 29 April 2000, to $336.6 million, including sales from the recently acquired Aherns department stores in Western Australia.
Sales, excluding Aherns, rose 10.8% to $314.3 million for the third quarter, and for the first three quarters, to $1.09 billion, a 10% rise on the $995.5 million sales recorded for the previous corresponding period.
On a comparable store for store basis, excluding Aherns, sales for the 13 weeks increased by a post-float record of 6.7%, while sales for the nine months were 6.5% higher.
