David Slater was the Male Vocalist champion on Star Search in 1987. Slater then signed a recording contract with Capital Records and launched a country music career in Nashville, Tennessee. He released two critically-acclaimed albums on Capital in the late 1980's entitled Exchange of Hearts and Be with Me. Several of Slater's radio singles reached the top 40 on Billboard and other charts. Slater performs regularly as a singer and piano player and is currently based in Dallas, Texas.
