In 2004, he defeated sitting Liberal-turned-Conservative MP John Bryden for the Conservative Party nomination in the riding of Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Westdale. David Gilmour is the eponymous first solo album from Pink Floyd guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour, released in May 1978 (see 1978 in music) in the UK and on June 17, 1978 in the US.
According to David Gilmour's official web site, David Gilmour will be re-released by EMI Records in Europe on August 14, 2006 and on Columbia Records in the US and Canada on August 15, 2006.
The promotion paid off as the album made a respectable showing on The Billboard album charts peaking at #29(which until 2006's On an Island was Gilmour's highest charting solo album) and eventually going Gold.

Sweet pointed out that some of the most important early decisions that the transition team, and ultimately, Rendell, will have to make involve not people but structure -- the framework for how the key players in the new government will interact with each other and their boss.
Sweet, the son of the late Washington County President Judge Charles Sweet, was elected to the state House in 1976.
